First governor of RBI in 25 years not get extension in term period

Raghuram Rajan was the first governor of RBI that does not get extension in his term period. Rajan had announced in june that his term period of 3 years will be ended in 4 September 2016.
Raghuram Rajan term period was 4 September 2013 to 4 September 2016. RBI announced Urjit Patel as its new governor of RBI.
